Gianna's (age 8) (See Note below) |

Gianna Isabella Bartolini, read my book about her grandfather when as a boy age 8, he "stole" apples from my Uncle's apple trees in his back yard in Kenosha, WI, in the early 1930's. This tale is told in my book and inspired Gianna to paint this picture. My uncle is shown warning Al, not to take apples off the tree, while my aunt looks on. He often yelled out to kids, "Why don't you come and ask me for them?" Al, my friend for 70 years. was not the only boy who stole his apples. He would often plea with my brothers and I, to simply ask him for the apples rather than "steal" his apples and run away. This picture was painted by Gianna, in April 2007, to surprise her grandpa Alfredo and grandma Seglinde to their delight. |
